Severe weather blew through western Nebraska overnight Friday. Meteorologist Brayden Murdock says the storms dropped large amounts of rain Thursday night and Friday morning. North Platte received a half inch of rain in just an hour.

North Platte's Municipal Light & Water says about 150 homes lost power before 2 a.m. Friday morning because of wind and branches. Most of the outages were confined to the southcentral and southwest sections of North Platte. Officials also say there were a couple isolated outages on the northeast side of the city.
