A North Platte restaurant closed Wednesday. The restaurant owner says Whiskey Creek is closing its doors after lease negotiations failed for the North Platte location.

Through a press release, Jim Gardner says he tried for almost a year to negotiate a lease extension. He says the landlord's terms were not fair and equitable

He is sad a business 20 years in that location had to close. He says the facility is in bad shape and the landlord would not make improvements and wanted to raise rent by $30,000.

Gardner said his company put $200,000 in the building five years ago but it needed much more than that to bring it up to par.

Gardner says they will a new location to build a Whiskey Creek in North Platte. Gardner says they have multiple offers by people willing to build a new facility for them.
