'Big Bang Theory' star Mayim Bialik to speak at University of Tennessee in March

A "Big Bang Theory" star will visit Knoxville in the coming weeks.

Actress, author and scientist Mayim Bialik will come to the University of Tennessee for "An Evening with Mayim Bialik," a event part of the college's Mossman Distinguished Lecture Series, according to UT's website.

The event will go from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, March 4, in the Cox Auditorium in UT's Alumni Memorial Building, 1408 Middle Drive.

It is free and open to the public, and more event details will be announced at a later date. 

Free parking will be available for attendees until 9 p.m. in the G10 Garage, which is next to Neyland Stadium, according to UT's website.

Bialik is known for her role as neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler on "The Big Bang Theory." The long-running CBS comedy has millions of fans and will end this year after 12 seasons. 

Bialik also starred and was the main character on NBC's "Blossom," which aired from 1990-1995.

In addition to acting, Bialik has written several books and has a PhD in neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles. She also writes for Grok Nation, a website she founded in 2015.

UT's Mossman Distinguished Lecture Series has brought in several stars over the years including Adam Savage of "Mythbusters" in 2018 and "M*A*S*H" actor Alan Alda in 2016.
