Lady Vols sign Australian guard Jessie Rennie

Kellie Harper kept the Tennessee women's basketball recruiting class intact.

The Lady Vols announced Thursday the signing of Jessie Rennie, a 5-foot-6 guard from Kangaroo Flat, Victoria, Australia. Rennie committed to UT last month while Holly Warlick was the coach.

Tennessee fired Warlick on March 27 and announced Harper as its new coach on April 9.

Rennie joins Tennessee's recruiting class that includes three November signees – guard Jordan Horston and forwards Tamari Key and Emily Saunders. Horston and Key are ranked as the Nos. 2 and 46 overall prospects, respectively, in the ESPN/HoopGurlz rankings.

Harper said last week that she'd spoken with the November signees and that they plan to enroll at UT despite the coaching transition.

"We are happy to be adding Jessie Rennie to the Lady Vol family," Harper said in a statement. "My staff and I look forward to getting to work with all four of our incoming freshmen when they arrive on campus in May."

Rennie has competed for the Bendigo Spirit of the Women's National Basketball League in Australia and the Bendigo Lady Braves of the South East Australian Basketball League. She's a skilled outside shooter.

This signing period began Wednesday and will run through May 15.

Former Lady Vol receives WNBA chance

The WNBA's Atlanta Dream announced Wednesday they signed former Tennessee guard Meme Jackson to a training camp contract.

Jackson, from Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, averaged 10.8 points last season as a senior and made a team-best 54 3-pointers.
