United can't keep up with Lights' pace

The New Mexico United could not keep the momentum from last week's upset of the MLS Colorado Rapids rolling as they fell to the Las Vegas Lights on Saturday in Nevada 5-1.Las Vegas scored the first goal in the 32nd minute.The Lights took control of the match with a second goal eight minutes later off a penalty kick rebound.The second half did not get any better for the United. Las Vegas scored quickly in the second half, just three minutes into play.United's only goal came from David Estrada, with a header in the 88th minute.The Lights countered quickly with another shot into the net two minutes later and the final score in the fourth minute of stoppage time.The United play another MLS team Wednesday as they travel to Texas to take on FC Dallas in the Round of 16 of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
