POLICE WERE ABLE TO LOCATE THE SUSPECT JUST MINUTES LATER IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. >> I GOT CHILLS ALL OVER. IT’S SCARY. ERIN: BRENDA BAILEY IS SCARED BECAUSE POLICE WERE OUTSIDE HER DOOR. >> THEY ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEBODY. ERIN: THAT SOMEBODY WAS WANTED FOR BEING INVOLVED IN MULTIPLE BURGLARIES. POLICE SAY INVESTIGATORS WERE TRACKING THE SUSPECT AND TRIED TO PULL HIM OVER. THAT IS WHEN THE CHASE STARTED. SHORTLY AFTER THE SUSPECT , CRASHED AND TOOK OFF ON FOOT. >> THEY GOT A SUSPECT OUT HERE AND HAVE DOGS OUT. ERIN: SKY 5 CAPTURING THE MOMENTS A K9 UNIT LOCATED THE SUSPECT AND HIS ARREST. Person taken into custody after police chase, crash in southeast Oklahoma City
A person was taken into custody after leading police on a chase and crashing near Southeast 62nd Street and Byers Avenue in Oklahoma City. Police said the person was wanted in connection with a stolen property ring. The vehicle he was driving had been reported stolen, according to police. According to Oklahoma City Public Schools, several schools in the area were placed on lockout, which means no one was allowed in or out of the building but activity within the school continues as usual. Hayes Elementary, Webster Middle School and Southeast High School were placed on lockout as a precaution.
