Family wants answers 6 months after triple homicide in northeast Oklahoma City
Felisha Cook remembers what it was like almost six months ago when she learned that Elijah Mothershed was the victim of a triple homicide in northeast Oklahoma City.
"I was told not to cry, not to scream and not to yell," she said.
Cook, who was Mothershed's sister-in-law, said someone went to his house and shot the 44-year-old man and two other people -- his fiancee, 35-year-old Carnesha Patrice Powell, and her daughter, 15-year-old Roshawna Stevens. According to police, officers found three bodies while conducting a welfare check at a home near Northeast 10th Street and Standish Avenue in early January.
"Me and my husband have laid there countless nights coming up with scenarios," she said.
No arrests have been made, and Cook and her family want answers. Police said the homicide is an ongoing investigation.
"Those questions are constantly eating at you," she said. "He would always help anyone he came across."
Cook and Mothershed's brothers are raising money to buy a statue of him to serve as a headstone on his grave.
"It's going to be a symbolization of Elijah," Cook said.
She is asking that donations to be sent to Stems and Stones Cemetery Service. The statue is expected to cost $2,000.
"He always helped the community, so maybe the community can help him," Cook said.
