A man is in critical condition after being shot by officers early Tuesday morning in northeast Oklahoma City, police officials said. According to police, two officers were originally responding to a domestic violence report when they saw a man walking down the street with a handgun near Northeast 23rd Street and Martin Luther King Avenue. Officers said they told the man to put the gun down and away, but the man did not comply. Police said the man turned around, walked toward the officers and pointed the gun at one of them. That’s when both officers opened fire."The officers ordered to drop his gun several times; he refused and continued walking. At one point, the subject turns around and begins to walk back towards the officers. Still refusing to drop the hand gun,” said Capt. Larry Withrow with the Oklahoma City Police Department. The man, later identified as 32-year-old James Harmon, is in critical condition, police said. The officers involved in the shooting, identified as Sgt. Jonathan Thomas and Officer Cody Fry, have been placed on administrative leave. Neither of the officers were injured in the incident.
