PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The weather is changing, it’s getting darker earlier and fall is practically here — all signs that Halloween is right around the corner.
If you’re looking for a scary good time, the Halloween themed Run Like Hell race has something for everyone. The event includes a 5k, 10k and half-marathon.
The race used to be on a route through downtown Portland, but this year, it’s moving to Troutdale.
The routes will take runners through historic downtown Troutdale and along the Historic Columbia River Highway and Sandy River.
The courses are paved and the maximum elevation gain is 306 feet, which is only on the half-marathon route.
Registration is still open up until the weekend of the race but prices go up on Oct. 24 and registrations after Oct. 11 aren’t guaranteed a commemorative T-shirt.
Participants get a T-shirt and medal and after the race, a party at Edgefield. There is a costume contest, beer/cider and more.
Organizers just announced the theme for the costume contest is “Stranger Things.”
Proceeds from the event go to Breast Friends and the Oregon Food Bank
All races start at 8 a.m. on October 26.
The races were originally set to start and finish at McMenamin’s Edgefield but there’s been a change of plans. Runners will now be shuttled from Edgefield to the starting line at the outlet mall.
Run Like Hell organizer Terrapin Events also put on other themed runs like the Country Girl, Rose City Relay, Grateful Dad and Bridge to Brews.
