PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Three people were found dead in the wreckage of a crash near St. Paul Saturday afternoon.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said two cars were involved in the crash on NE McKay Road east of Hwy 219.

Investigators determined a pickup truck going west left the roadway and when it came back onto the road, it hit an oncoming box van. Investigators believe speed contributed to the crash.

Someone passing by after the crash called 911.

Two people were in the truck and one was in the van. No survivors were found.

The driver of the truck was identified as 26-year-old Jorge Valdez-Espinoza of Newberg. The passenger in his car was 21-year-old Leonel Sanchez-Jaimes of Salem. The driver of the box van was identified as 33-year-old Joseph Ensign-Lewis of Portland.

The road was closed for hours while police investigated but has since reopened.
