PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A new food tour is now available in Portland — the Underground Donut Tour.

Underground Donut Tours started in Chicago four years ago and has expanded to Philadelphia, New York, Seattle and Portland.

“Portland is famous for donuts if anything else, we don’t have cheesesteaks,” Beau Lafave with Underground Donut Tours said. “Donuts are the food that represents Portland better than any other food.”

The tour takes two hours as you walk about two miles to four of the best donut shops in Portland. Stops on the tour include Nola Donuts, Blue Star, Coco Donuts and Voodoo Doughnut, where you get to skip the line! On Sundays, the tour stops at Sesame Donuts because Coco is closed.

You’ll also learn some about the history of each shop and Portland along the way.

“It’s gonna be a lot of fun, but please come hungry. We are gonna eat a ton of donuts,” Lafave said. “I let them know we are going to be walking, we’re gonna go through a park, we’re gonna see the most historic parts of Portland, we’re gonna see history, we’re gonna see art, fun and food, and we’re gonna have a great time.”

Tours run Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. with more days and times to come.

It costs $30 per adult and $15 for kids.
