Carson City has been awarded a $5,000 grant from Domino's Pizza.

"Luckily for us, Carson City came out on top, which was fantastic," says Domino's Area Supervisor Roger Coffey.

One city in each state was given the money, decided by online votes and social media requests. The money will be used to fix potholes around town.

Normally smaller communities get overlooked," added Coffey. "And what was great about this is people are not only passionate about their pizza, but their potholes as well."

"Cracks, bumps and potholes can easily ruin a good carryout pizza, and nobody wants that," says Mark Kraniger, a Carson City Domino's franchise owner.

The city will decide what roads to re-pave as part of Domino's "Paving for Pizza" campaign.
