The Carson City Fire Department is investigating a fire at the St. Charles Residential Hotel.

Firefighters say shortly after noon February 12, 2019, crews were called to the fire at 310 South Carson Street. They found smoke coming from the second floor of the hotel, and found sprinklers had put the fire out. The fire was confined to one studio apartment.

Firefighters found the resident's dog unconscious; they resuscitated the dog and took it to a veterinary hospital. No condition has been released.

The damage to the hotel is estimated to be $10,000, with the room unlivable during repairs for smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
