Power tool causes Cold Springs fire that burns shed

A fire destroyed a shed Wednesday afternoon in Cold Springs, the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District reported.

The fire on Bobolink Circle also burned brush and caused minor damage to a home’s exterior, the district said.

Fire crews said they were able to quickly stop the fire and a quick knockdown by Cold Springs Engine 42 saved the home.

A resident using a power tool caused sparks that created the fire, the district said. There were no injuries.
