Three Carson City residents are facing charges in connection with a home burglary, in which one of the alleged burglars was the victim's hairdresser.

On September 19, 2019, Carson City Sheriff's Deputies responded to reports of a burglary in the 400 block of Hot Springs Road. Several firearms, ammunition, jewelry, a computer, and credit cards were stolen during the theft.

Detectives identified three suspects, 36-year-old Aaron Maurer, 38-year-old Summer Jacobs, and 41-year-old Jennila McDaniel-Schumacher, all of Carson City, after authorities say they used the stolen credit cards and pawned some of the stolen property.

During the investigation detectives learned that McDaniel-Schumacher was the hair dresser for the victim and knew the victim was going to be out of town on vacation. Detectives say McDaniel-Schumacher then developed a plan with Jacobs and Maurer to break into the home while the owner was on vacation.

On September 25, 2019, Carson City Sheriff’s Detectives and Special Enforcement Team, along with Tri-Net Narcotics Task Force Officers arrested Maurer and Jacobs during a traffic stop on Imus Road near Bonanza Drive.

A search warrant was then executed at their home in the 1000 block of Shenandoah Drive. McDaniel-Schumacher was later arrested that night at a different location.

Both Jacobs and McDaniel-Schumacher are cooperating with investigators.
