Governor Steve Bullock decided to visit elementary students to talk about the holiday and the legacy of Doctor King.

This particular reading session is named "Read for Peace" and was put together by Montana Americorps.

These readings will occur in 32 schools across ten Montana communities this year.

After reading the book, the governor says he was excited to hear the reactions from students.

"It's good to hear the kids saying 'What does service mean? What does helping someone mean?'" said Govenor Bullock. "Certainly those are things that teachers are helping them understand each and every day, but it is great for them to really think about it in the context of MLK."

The First Lady of Montana, Lisa Bullock, is also planning to visit an elementary school for a special reading on Martin Luther King Day.
