Mirror Lake Highway Open For The Season

The Mountain road connecting Eastern Summit County to Wyoming is now open.

After a lengthy and prolific snow season UDOT announced the opening of Mirror Lake Highway Monday afternoon.

State Route 150 connects Kamas to Evanston over the Uinta Mountains.

The June 24th open was more than a month after last years May 21st open date.

Those who take the drive will still see plenty of snow. Conditions for the road at Bald Mountain Pass can be found here. During the past day snow depth has measured at an average of 28 inches.

Empire and Guardsman Passes connecting Big Cottonwood Canyon, Midway and Park City also opened for the season in mid-June.

KPCW reporter David Boyle covers all things in the Heber Valley as well as sports and breaking news.
