The Bay Area is finally getting some much-needed relief after a recent heat wave brought on record-breaking temperatures to the region.
How hot exactly?
San Francisco was literally hotter than Las Vegas this week, according to AccuWeather.com.
“Temperatures in San Francisco reached 100 F on Monday, which was 3 degrees higher than the maximum temperature at Las Vegas and equaled the high at Sacramento, California,” according to AccuWeather senior meteorologist Dan Pydynowski.
The heat wave gripped much of the state in recent days, including San Francisco, Oakland, Richmond, Santa Rosa, Half Moon Bay, and Monterey.
Those areas all broke record-high temperatures thanks to the heat wave.
Cooler ocean air will keep temperatures noticeably cooler Thursday not only along the coast but also inland across the Bay.
Expect a cooler forecast ahead as the Bay remains in much more seasonable temperatures from the 70’s and 80’s under continually dry and favorable skies.
