A big celebration was held at a South Valley Elementary School on Wednesday.
Pajarito Elementary School opened its first schoolhouse in 1908.
Wednesday night, the staff welcomed the students and their families to celebrate 100 years in the community.
“One of our focuses is family engagement, and this is an epitome of family engagement. The families working with the students, working with the teachers to create these family histories,” Debra Larribas.
As part of the celebration, 350 out of the 400 students at the school made family trees.
