ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Sentencing for the Albuquerque father accused of beating his infant son within inches of his life has been postponed.

Last March, Evan Ritchey admitted to police that he choked and head-butted his 4-month-old son when he wouldn’t stop crying. The infant’s injuries included a fractured skull and ribs.

In April, Ritchey pleaded no contest to six counts of child abuse. Judge Cindy Leos was expected to sentence him on Monday, but that sentencing has been postponed. Ritchey faces up to 18 years behind bars.
