ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place in northwest Albuquerque on Wednesday.
Officers responded to a shots fired call around 4:30 p.m. at an apartment complex at 9250 Eagle Ranch Road after several callers in the area reported hearing gun shots and stated the shots were near Building 14. Police say that officers were informed of a male who was shot numerous times through an apartment door and that individuals were seen running north through the complex.
Police detained several subjects and found a male inside an apartment with trauma to his chest. The male was pronounced deceased.
APD says detectives have since obtained a search warrant for the apartment and are conducting interviews. The victim has yet to be identified which is pending verification at the Office of the Medical Investigator.
