1. A strong spring storm will move to New Mexico on Tuesday. It will spread storms across the east and scattered showers in central sections. Highs will max out in the mid to high 50s. We could even pick up some more high mountain snow. The storm will move out of the state on Wednesday leaving behind spot showers and warmer temperatures.

3. The University of New Mexico Board of Regents voted to approve a 3.1 percent increase in tuition Monday. This was not an easy vote. The board was split on how they could meet a 4 percent salary increase for staff and faculty. After hours of debate, something had to give, and students will pay the price.

4. Sri Lanka’s president gave the military sweeping police powers starting Tuesday in the wake of the Easter bombings that killed nearly 300 people, while officials disclosed that intelligence agencies had warned weeks ago of the possibility of an attack by the radical Muslim group blamed for the bloodshed. 5. A New Mexico dad will spend his next 15 weekends behind bars after egging on his 12-year-old daughter during a fight. Monday in court, Pappas apologized to the girl and her family, and explained his behavior as an emotional response to his daughter being bullied.
