Police have identified a man who is still on the run after getting away during a dramatic chase.
Socorro police say 25-year-old Eric Todd Garcia was first pulled over around 5 a.m. on Jan. 27.
After refusing to identify himself, police say Garcia took off, leading officers on a high-speed chase.
At one point, police say he also stole a city truck and hit an officer. That’s when one officer fired his gun.
The chase was eventually canceled 40 minutes north of Socorro in Veguita.
An arrest warrant has since been issued.
Court records show a long criminal record for Garcia, including multiple drug and theft charges.
