1. Federal investigators will continue their search for the person or persons responsible for sending a string of bomb-threat emails throughout the country, including in New Mexico. Law enforcement authorities say these threats are not credible. Officials say the bomb threats were sent to businesses, medical offices and schools, demanding Bitcoin payments of $20,000. Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Roswell Police Departments say they worked reports of threats in New Mexico.

2. An investigation is underway after a 7-year-old- Guatemalan girl died in border patrol custody. Two Texas congressmen, Joaquin Castro and Representative Beto O’Rourke, are calling for an investigation by Congress. The Department of Homeland Security says autopsy results could take several weeks. The Washington Post reports the girl and her father were taken into custody last week south of Lordsburg with a group of over 100 migrants who turned themselves in at the border after walking through the desert. Homeland Security says the girl started having seizures more than eight hours later. Border Patrol told the post that she “reportedly had not eaten or drank any water for several days.” The girl died less than 24 hours later.

4. In less than a month, a new governor will take office and Democrats will hold all of the U.S. congressional seats representing the state. The heated mid-term election led to a record number of voters. Going into the election, there was a lot of talk about millennials turning out to vote, but less than 20,000 from that group voted in Bernalillo County. This was not enough to surpass the amount of people over the age of 50, which was over 27,000.

5. Purgatory Resort in Durango is now named the most affordable ski resort in Colorado. The vacation rental search engine HomeToGo ranked Colorado’s top 10 ski resorts based on affordability. They based their decision on four factors: lift ticket costs, equipment rentals, lunch, and a night’s stay. HomeToGo says a trip will set you back $237.50.
