The San Juan County Sheriff’s office released the audio of a deputy reporting back to dispatch after finding a one-year-old home alone.
“Well, the baby’s here lying on the bed at her house all by itself,” the deputy says.
The sheriff’s office said the mother was drunk at a family member’s house when she reported she couldn’t find her little girl. So, a deputy went to check out the woman’s home where he found the baby.
The sheriff’s office says the deputy cared for the child until a sober family member was able to pick her up.
