Breweries across the nation and across the state are pitching in to make a difference by doing one thing: serving up a special beer to help those affected by California’s deadliest wildfire.
Marble Brewery is just one of the local breweries that will soon be serving up the Resilience IPA benefiting the victims of California’s Camp Fire.
“It’s sort of a classic West Coast sierra style IPA with lots of cascade hops in there…centennial. It should be a good brew,” said Robert Haggerty, head brewer at Steel Bender Brewyard.
Sierra Nevada Brewing Company has created the specialty brew to benefit the victims of California’s deadliest wildfire, the Camp Fire. More than 1,400 breweries across the nation were sent the same recipe to brew for their guests.
Eight breweries in New Mexico have joined in to support the cause. For Steel Bender Brewyard, helping people affected by a wildfire is a cause they say they can easily get behind.
“Being from New Mexico, wildfires are near and dear to our heart here, and helping people through a tough time was an easy cause to get behind,” Haggerty said.
Steel Bender Brewyard, Canteen Brewery and Marble Brewery are the three Albuquerque breweries that will soon be serving up the beer, which goes by the full name, Resilience Butte County Proud IPA.
One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to wildfire victims. The three breweries in town are hoping to release the beer on the same day, but they have yet to release the exact date; only saying it will be released in the next several weeks.
Breweries in Santa Fe, Cloudcroft, Cimarron, Los Alamos and Taos will also be serving the beer. Sierra Nevada brewing will also be releasing cans of the IPA at the end of the month.
