A Santa Fe dad who beat his son so badly the boy suffered internal bleeding may avoid prison time.
In 2016, 43-year-old Darryl Blakey was upset his 8-year-old son didn’t do his homework. Blakey admitted to hitting his son harder than he should have.
According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, he pleaded guilty to child abuse and attempted child abuse.
Under the deal, Blakey could receive probation from a suspended 12-year sentence when he learns his fate Wednesday.
