A new Lifetime TV show will feature female police officers. Some Santa Fe officers are also set to be featured.
According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, it’s for a series called “Live PD Presents: Woman on Patrol.
Show producers say the goal is to highlight female officers to improve community relations and let citizens know how hard the job is.
Santa Fe Deputy Police Chief, Robert Vasquez says the show is a good recruitment tool.
Nineteen out of the department’s 144 officers are women, that’s about 13 percent.
According to the data from the FBI, women made up 12 percent of officers in about 13,000 agencies.
