The Santa Fe school board is scheduled to meet Tuesday to discuss if the state’s new budget meets a judge’s requirements.

Last year a judge ruled the state’s education system isn’t meeting its responsibilities for low-income English language learners and Native American students.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, during this year’s legislative session, lawmakers and the governor gave an extra $480 million for education during the new fiscal year that beings in July.

Still, some school board members say that’s not enough.

The board is scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Educational Service Center, 610 Alta Vista St.
