Over 1,200 fans had the chance to see New Mexico United in action on Saturday, as they hosted Denver University at the UNM Soccer Complex in a preseason matchup. NM United would go on to win this game 1-0, after a 2nd half goal from New Mexico’s own Devon Sandoval.
“Well I mean, it doesn’t get any better than that. You know, Devon has been with us since day one, he committed to this thing before he knew what it was about, and for him to get on today and score the goal, it doesn’t get any better than that for our fans”, said NM United Head Coach Troy Lesesne.
“Yeah it was a pretty cool feeling, a little surreal being back here playing, but yeah this was our second game of preseason and I think we still have a long way to go, but you know we got a win so that is most important”, said UNM Forward Devon Sandoval.
NM United will kick off their inaugural season on March 10 at Isotopes Park. For ticket information, click here.
