Two people were hurt after a truck overturned on Interstate 90 in western South Dakota.

A truck hauling food lost control Thurdsay morning about eight miles east of Sturgis, according to the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

Troopers say black ice is suspected to have played a role in the crash.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Tony Mangan says the 38-year-old man driving the truck had minor injuries. His passenger, a 21-year-old man received life-threatening injuries. Mangan says he was not wearing a seat belt.

The truck was hauling a shipment of food. A photo tweeted by the South Dakota Highway Patrol showed dozens of tortilla packages strewn about the Interstate. It took crews several hours to clean up the wreck.
