A family was left without a place to stay after a fire damaged a duplex in central Sioux Falls.

The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. Monday at a duplex on the 2900 block of S. Western Ave.

Fire Investigators Tyler Tjeerdsma says smoke could be seen coming from the home when firefighters arrived.

Crews found a small fire in the ceiling of the bathroom. They were able to put out the flames in about ten minutes.

No one was hurt. The Red Cross offered assistance to one faily who was displaced from their home for the night.

The cause is still under investigation.
