Man arrested after stabbing in north Sioux Falls
A man has been arrested and a woman is in the hospital after a stabbing in north Sioux Falls.
It
Wednesday around 2 p.m. in the 6200 block of North Cliff Avenue.
Capt. Josh Phillips with the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office said the woman was stabbed in the abdomen and taken to a hospital with what at the time were life-threatening injuries.
She is now in stable condition.
Authorities arrested 29-year-old Robert Harold Loechke of Sioux Falls with one count of domestic aggravated assault.
Phillips said an argument or confrontation prompted the assault. The weapon was a small knife but bigger than a pocketknife.
The Sioux Falls Police Department and the South Dakota Highway Patrol assisted at the scene.
Phillips said Loechke also had an outstanding warrant out of Brown County for unrelated charges.
