UPDATE: Man dies following fire at Sioux Falls home

UPDATE:

Authorities say a man who was found unresponsive following a fire at a Sioux Falls home has died.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said an autopsy will be conducted Thursday on the 76-year-old victim.

The fire broke out at a mobile home in the 6700 block of West 14th Place around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Crews found the man unresponsive and began CPR. He was then transported to a hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Authorities say one man was taken to the hospital after he was found unresponsive following a fire at a Sioux Falls residence.

The fire broke at a mobile home on the 6700 West 14th Place around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sioux Falls Fire Rescue.

Once crews arrived, they knocked down the main body of flames. Two firefighters then entered the home, where they found an unresponsive adult male.

The firefighters removed the man from the building and performed CPR. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Authorities have not given an update on his current condition.

Crews were able to completely extinguish the blaze within ten minutes. No one else was in the home.

The room where the fire started received moderate fire damage, and the entire house sustained substantial smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
