It is a fun summer event that helped fill the gap left when Ribfest folded, and it is returning to Sioux Falls this year.

Organizers announced the 2019

will take place May 31 and June 1 at 8th and Railroad Center in downtown Sioux Falls.

The event is a celebration of local musicians, craft breweries and of course, all things pork.

It features a rib cook off with 12 local barbecue pitmasters, and it is all to raise money for Feeding South Dakota.

Last year was the first-ever PorkPalooza, and organizers said they had such a positive response they decided to bring it back.

"One of the things -- people coming up to us all last year, 'you guys are going to do this again, aren't you?' 'Well, let us get through this weekend first,' but I think by Saturday afternoon we were on to something that was going to be a longstanding event with the community of Sioux Falls, and that's really the reason we wanted to do it," Crash from KBACK Radio said.

This year's organizers include Remedy Brewing Company, KBACK Radio, Sioux Falls Connected and the Sioux Falls Sertoma Club.
