Police in Sioux Falls say a tip from the community has led police to recover multiple stolen guns and other property.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said police were called to the 1000 block of South Sunburst Place Monday just before 10 a.m.

The caller said there were two people who might be intoxicated in a vehicle parked outside a home for about 25 minutes.

Officers arrived and found the driver, 19-year-old Samir Yasser Aibaidhani, and the passenger, 18-year-old Kaytlin Marie Johns. Both are from Sioux Falls.

The two said they knew someone who lived in the area.

After seeing a rifle in the backseat, police discovered Aibaidhani was on parole and Johns was on probation. Their parole and probation officers came to the scene.

Police searched and found two rifles inside the car. One had its serial number partially ground off. They also found two rifles and a shotgun in the trunk.

Clemens said officers found a marijuana pipe in the car, along with checks, bank cards and prescription pills that did not belong to the suspects.

Johns also had a small amount of meth in her purse, Clemens said.

Three of the guns were stolen out of Minnehaha County, and at least six of the bank cards or checks belonged to victims in Lincoln County.

Officers arrested Aibaidhani for three counts of possession of stolen property, obstruction, resisting arrest, possession of an firearm with an altered serial number, burglary, possession of controlled substances and possession of marijuana.

Officers arrested Johns for three counts of possession of stolen property, possession of controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Clemens said the two were not intoxicated.

They could face more charges.

Clemens said without the tip, police may never have found the stolen property. He said this was a "see something, say something" situation.
