PROVO — A woman was injured in an officer-involved shooting on Thursday evening at Utah Lake State Park, 4400 W. Center Street.

Officers responded to reports of a woman waving a gun in the air in the area.

When officers responded, the woman pointed the gun at them after ignoring verbal commands and officers shot her, police said.

The woman was treated on scene and transported to Utah Valley Hospital.

Her condition was not immediately available.

The incident is under investigation.
