WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Two men have been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a Wichita restaurant Tuesday.

Police say the suspects are Tareo Hadi Hadi, 25, and Ali Taraq Hadi, 21.

Investigators say they connected the men to the fire at Wichita Chicken Fried House on North Hillside early Tuesday.

At one point, the flames were so intense crews had to go into a defensive operation to battle the blaze.

“We had a few utility issues and a few other things we had to address before we could get it extinguished,” said Battalion Chief Doug Winter, Wichita Fire Department. “I can just tell you extensive. We had some structural issues inside, roof failure, and a few other things.”

No injuries were reported. Damage to the restaurant is estimated at $200,000.

The WFD will present the case to the district attorney’s office for charges.
