HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Thursday could be quite similar to Wednesday where some early clouds will give way to mostly sunny skies. Once again by the end of the day, showers and thunderstorms will develop out west and progress eastward through the night. As the push farther east, they will weaken and fall apart, meaning the better chance will be out west. The threat for severe weather remains relatively low. High temperatures on Thursday will be a little warmer in the mid to upper 80s to around 90° in Southwest Nebraska. Lows will drop back into the mid to upper 60s early Friday morning.

For the rest of the forecast for the week ahead, slight chances for thunderstorms remain in the forecast for each night, but odds are that many will miss out. Meanwhile, temperatures will be back above average. Highs on Friday will range from the mid 80s east to the mid 90s west. The hottest temperatures will come this weekend. We’ll see widespread low to mid 90s with a handful of upper 90s even possible. Monday may be slightly cooler in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Tuesday may be slightly cooler yet with mid to upper 80s and lower 90s. Lows throughout this time will mostly be in the mid to upper 60s.
