Topeka police have a suspect in jail after an armed robbery and hours-long standoff that ended Monday morning.

Todd Andrew Devlin II, 36, of Topeka, faces charges of aggravated robbery and interference with law enforcement. Officers investigated a robbery at gunpoint around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of Southwest Clay Street. The victim identified Devlin as the robber, and police said they found him barricaded in a nearby home where a standoff ensued.

After negotiating for several hours, police fired tear gas into the house around 1 a.m. and removed Devlin around 2 a.m. They booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.
