For years, the Las Vegas Strip has belonged to country acts during the month of December to coincide with the National Finals Rodeo, but lately, those stays have been extending further and further in the year.

"I think residencies too are the new cool thing to do.  Florida Georgia Line is going to be here December first then Lady Antebellum in February," Tay Hamilton with 95.5 The Bullsaid.

Lady Antebellum is set to start the band's first Las Vegas residency at the Palms.

Variety, recently calling the announcement the latest in a "stampede" of country artists making extended stays in Las Vegas.

Reba McEntire and Brooks & Dunn have long been mainstays at Caesars Palace.

Country legend George Strait retired from touring but still regularly plays T-Mobile Arena.

Hamilton says she's excited by the growing number of country residencies but not surprised saying Las Vegas has a huge country community that embraces the stars.

She says the stars recognize the excitement when they perform here.

"Country artists love coming to Las Vegas.  Garth Brooks, for example, I talked to him when we went to Stagecoach, 'He said I love coming to Las Vegas that is my town everybody is just so alive there," Hamilton said.

So don't be surprised to see the list of Nashville artists calling Las Vegas home growing in the next few years.
