9:53 P.M.
A man is recovering in the hospital in critical condition after his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend shot him around 7 p.m., according to police. Officers say the man was inside his apartment with his girlfriend on Sandhill Road near Owens Avenue with the shooting happened. Police say the ex-boyfriend came over and tried to kick the door in. The ex-boyfriend was detained at the scene and is being interviewed by detectives. The man shot is expected to survive.
