ORIGINAL STORY
The main road to Mount Charleston was closed early Tuesday afternoon.
The mountain is a very popular destination on holidays and it is not unusual for there to be serious traffic delays and lack of parking.
According to Las Vegas police, there was a minor crash on State Route 157, which aggravated the situation. The road was temporarily closed so that the cars that were already on the road could turn around.
Part of the road is expected to be reopened shortly. However, police are advising visitors to make plans to visit another day. Traffic is expected to be an issue for quite some time.
