53-year-old Anchorage man indicted on child pornography charges

A 53-year-old clinical therapist from Anchorage was indicted for possession and distribution of child pornography by a federal court today, Sept. 30.

The man, Shannon Robert Bell, knowingly distributed the pornography of children under the age of 12, according to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Alaska. The allegations also state that the man knowingly possessed and accessed child pornography with intent to view material that contained images of child pornography, including images involving prepubescent minors.

According to a release from the U.S. District Attorney, the man was employed as a clinical therapist at multiple inpatient treatment facilities for children.

Bell faces a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison if proven guilty.
