Tuesday the Anchorage Assembly will hear public testimony on the Anchorage School Board's 2020 bond proposal.

The proposal totals $82.8 million dollars, with the majority of it going to repairing damage from the November 2018 earthquake.

PREVIOUS:

The Anchorage School Board passed the bond proposal last November. There was discussion among assembly members to amend the proposal to separate earthquake related projects from capital improvement projects, but the Assembly began it's meeting with the discussion of all projects covered under on bond proposition.

If approved by the Assembly, the bond proposition will be placed on the April municipal ballot. The estimated additional cost to taxpayers should the bonds pass is $18.45 per $100,000 of assessed property value.
