An Anchorage man could see at least ten years in prison - plus up to $10 million in fines, after he was found guilty of possessing over 50 grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

According to the US Attorney for Alaska, Gian Carlo Clemente Pangilinan fled from police who had located him at a Burger King in East Anchorage in July of 2019. As he jumped the fence, police say he dropped clothing and other personal items including a cell phone and a bag with 162 grams of 99% pure methamphetamine.

With evidence from the phone, prosecutors established that Pangilinan had been distributing heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine at least since Dec. 2018.

Jurors also heard evidence of a separate incident in February of 2019. In that incident, police say they responded to a call of shots fired near the Mt. View car wash and when officers attempted to contact him, he fled on foot.
