Violence broke out in a Mountain View apartment complex after two men got into an argument, and one allegedly stabbed the other.

Freddie F. Viliamu, 29 was arrested when officers arrived just after 9 p.m. on Monday, April 22, Anchorage Police Department spokesperson Renee Oistad said in an email Tuesday.

Viliamu allegedly stabbed another man following an "altercation with one another" inside the apartment, APD said.

The victim, not identified by authorities, was found in a hallway of an apartment complex on 3100-block of Peterkin Avenue. The victim's wound was considered to be non-life-threatening. He was transported to the hospital.

Inside a unit at that apartment complex, lying on the floor of a bedroom, police found Viliamu. Oistad said he initially gave them another name after he was arrested, but was later properly identified.

Viliamu was taken to Anchorage Jail on charges of first degree assault and providing false information to police.

"Those involved, and potential witnesses, were not overly forthcoming with details," Oistad said of the case.
