April 24 Update:

APD released photos and updated information Wednesday regarding a hit-and-run crash that sent one woman to the hospital.

According to MJ Thim, spokesperson for APD, surveillance cameras caught the suspected vehicle involved in the case, allowing police to get a better description of the car that struck the woman.

While witnesses initially described it as a white SUV, it actually appears to be a dark green or grey GMC truck. The photos were not high enough resolution to render the license plate.

"If anyone has any information, we want them to call Dispatch at 311," said Thim.

Original Story:

A Tuesday morning hit-and-run crash left an Anchorage pedestrian in a hospital, while city police are looking for the driver responsible.

The call of a pedestrian struck came in after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, MJ Thim, spokesperson with the Anchorage Police Department, said.

The victim, a woman, was crossing the street on Muldoon in a cross walk when she was hit.

The vehicle, described only as a white SUV, was turning from Debarr Road onto Muldoon Road when it crashed into the pedestrian.

Thim said the driver of the SUV left the scene, heading westbound on Debarr Road.

"We don’t have any other description at this time other than it was a white SUV," Thim said in an email Tuesday.
