An Anchorage teen has been arrested following an investigation into a reportedly threatening message the juvenile made against a teacher.

According to the Anchorage Police Department, staff at West High School in Anchorage learned about a threat on social media just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

The threat, APD reported, "was directed towards a teacher, not the school."

Following an investigation by the school resource officer stationed at West, the student was identified, located, and questioned. Following the investigation, APD said the teen was arrested. Their identity has not been released, as they are a minor.

Charges were forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice, APD said.
