Just before 5 a.m. Friday, a fire was reported by law enforcement in Anchorage, stating that several roads had been shut down to provide fire fighters better access to the area.

According to an alert from the Anchorage Police Department, who are assisting the Anchorage Fire Department on the call, the fire is at a structure in the area of Fireweed and E. 26th Ave.

Fireweed headed eastbound at Denali to A Street, as well as 26th Ave. headed westbound from Cordova to Barrow, were shut down by authorities. While lanes on Fireweed at Barrow remained blocked, all other roads were re-opened.

AFD officers told KTUU at the scene that no one was reported injured in the blaze. Officers said the building was a vacant structure, an abandoned structure that had been boarded up. They could not confirm whether anyone had entered the structure prior to their arrival.
